About Prenatal Massage Specialty Certification

The Bodyworkers Association for the Birthing Year dedicates itself to educating and supporting Massage Therapists/Bodyworkers who believe massage and touch should be a vital component to women in their journey during pregnancy. This advanced Prenatal Massage course contains much more than contraindications and safe positioning.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

During this hands on class you will learn:

  • The most common structural changes experienced during pregnancy and be able to perform specific massage techniques that address those structural challenges.

  • You will be able to demonstrate relaxation techniques during your massage session with the pregnant Mom.

  • We will explore the most recent scientific information regarding the significance of pregnancy and the impact of the Mom’s thoughts, emotions and feelings upon the unborn child and be able to communicate those concepts and you will develop communication skills to convey this information

  • You will learn the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, in addition to medical conditions.
     


This is a hands-on, interactive workshop with plenty of practicum work during the class.

You will massage a pregnant Mom during the last day of the class.

Upon completing the workshop you will receive 22 ce credits approved by NCBTMB for massage continuing education credits. Manual included.

This class can be taken either for just the 22 CE MASSAGE CREDITS or additionally you may choose to work toward your Specialty Certificate Certification.

SPECIALTY CERTIFICATE CERTIFICATION
To receive you Specialty Certificate Certification you must:
 

To become a Certified Prenatal Massage Therapist you must complete the following:

  • Attend a Prenatal workshop

  • Complete the required reading

  • Submit documentation verifying 10 Prenatal massage sessions

  • Submit two short essays related to the content of the reading list

  • Submit completed certification materials within one year of entering the program
